PARKING LOT

One of my favorite songs on the album Malibu by Anderson .Paak is the track “Parking Lot”. It takes me back to those great first dates that left me wanting more! The type of date you tell your friends about to give them hope about the potential great guys and gals the world has to offer. I’m talking about the type of date that makes sense of all the shitty ones you had to deal with before, the type of date that feels like a 90’s R&B love song! I put together these casually fashion forward looks that’ll subtly impress on a date.

>> LADIES

This look is sure to make the perfect first impression. WARNING: side effects may may include butterflies. “The Cargo Hard Romper” (Nasty Gal) comes in faded army green and features a plunging V-neckline and front waist pockets. It’s formal enough for dinner and a movie, yet casual enough for laser tag and rock climbing. Perfectly pair it with the “Gladiator Yuni Heeled Boots” (T.U.K), think gladiator boot meets your favorite creeper style. Made with vegan leather, it has the cutest peep toe, panel upper, gladiator style lacing and a bootie opening that keeps your ankles secure (But maybe bring some sneakers if you are in fact going rock climbing).

When on a date it’s best to channel your inner minimalist, in hopes to keep the attention on you and not what you have on. For accessories I went with the “Cactus Clutch” (Gypsy Warrior), simply chic with a Western twist. With a wrist strap, gold zipper closure plus gold and red painted cacti prints on one side. For jewelry, I chose the sterling silver “Rich Girl Hoops” (Gypsy Warrior) because you know what they say, “The bigger the hoops, the better the outfit!”

“Recreate this look by trying a modern romper or a tailored one piece jumpsuit. Pair it with a gladiator sandal or your best platform booties. To complete the look, rock some hoops and a clutch and head out the door with confidence and good vibes!”

>> FELLAS

This look is dedicated to all the casually fashion forward modern day Danny Zukos out there! I love a guy who can look well put together without looking like he’s trying too hard. The first rule to executing this look is confidence, the second is color blocking!

The focal point of this outfit is definitely the black sleeveless baseball jersey (Supreme), perfect for showing off your arms or any tattoo sleeves you might have. Pair it with a white work pant (Supreme) that can go from the office to the skate park, preferably with the cuffs rolled up to show some ankle, you know, for the ladies!

Finally, attention to detail is key; even if it’s something as small as matching the logo panel on your hat (Supreme) to your sneakers. Girls notice things like that and appreciate the extra thought you may have put in just to look a little nicer. So for this look, I chose a white poly reflective perforated hat with to go with a pair of red “Skytop D’s” (Supra). Add a great smile and prepare to make a killing!

“To achieve this look with some alternatives, pair a vintage baseball tee with some skate pants or some chinos. Top the look off with a 5 panel hat and any high top sneakers. Don’t forget to flaunt your best accessory, confidence!”
