Writer’s Note: Look y’all. Let me start this article off by saying that I want to apologize for being away for so long. As a creative who daylights working an 8 – 5 gig, with aspirations to do the creative thing for that time, it was starting to weigh on the kid. So, I had to take some time off. I am grateful that Mitch (the homie from Highlark HQ) was willing to hit me up through the midst of all of that and keep me in the loop. Now, that we are off that, let’s get to this.

Dressed up with nowhere to go. Peep the fit though!

This is D3 the Concrete, bringing you fashion from the street.

As we all know, we are in the midst of the greatest pandemic since 1919, when influenza devastated over 1/3 of the Earth’s population, killing somewhere between 17 and 58 million people. This COVID-19 virus is a different beast though and, in an era where we have more technology than we know what to do with, one would think that we can just stay out of each other’s way and flatten the curve, but alas, it appears that the end is not in the foreseeable future.

That’s when I decided to do #FITFRIDAYS. Using Instagram’s LIVE feature, I reach out to my friends and followers to check in with them, while also dressing up in my streetwear best, from head to toe. My purpose? It’s a well deserved pick-me-up for people who have been stuck in the house, with nowhere to go, and dope clothes/sneakers/caps/whatever to show off.

Some of the shows have just been me, myself, and I. Other episodes have been with guests: Kareem and Mike of A HERD OF BISON; Tommy Bumps, a sneaker connoisseur and FACEKICKS proprietor; Dat Boy Theo, founder of KING OF KICKS & #PAVEMENTPUSHERS.

My latest video is with the incomparable, DJ Flash Gordon Parks, a Houston-based musicologist, who is doing wonderful work by preserving the history of local music luminaries. Check it out below, along with all of the other footage we have shot the past two months, during the COVID-19 quarantine.
