Today is a real treat because it is very rare these days to find a Hip-Hop album that I can listen to in it’s entirety. Lucky for me, as well as you, that’s exactly what you get when revered Philly beatmaker/producer RJD2 collaborates with Atlanta-raised rapper and dope lyricist STS. Today’s Hip-Hop pick “Trunk of My Computer” embodies great musicianship, laying down a track that uses original instrumentation with a soulful honest feel combined with the swaggerish flow of STS. RJD2 is also well-known for producing the instrumental track “A Beautiful Mine”, which was used as the theme song for the AMC TV series, Mad Men.
