CHVRCHES LIVE AT TERMINAL 5
After selling out Radio City Music Hall the night before, CHVRCHES (Lauren Mayberry, Martin Doherty, Iain Cook) gave New York City one last look of their tour in support of their latest release Every Open Eye. This time they packed Terminal 5 wall to wall with eager fans – some who have returned for a second dose and others who made sure not to miss a second night of CHVRCHES live.
SUNDAY 10/16/16 – NEW YORK, NEW YORK
Their performance was flawless as per usual – high energy, every note hit and not a single missed step along the way. The highlight of the night however would have to be the in-between-song banter provided by Lauren. They often get asked what to call their sound although most members of the press frequently describe them as a “Female fronted Synthpop/Electropop group.” She had all of us laughing when she talked about how obvious it was that there is a girl in the group. Apparently, she had given some thought to this and mentioned how they are sort of “Emo.” The crowd roared, but she continued with her thought process and concluded that their sound from this point on shall be described as “Synth-Mo.” So members of the press, next time you talk about CHVRCHES and categorize their sound, they are “Synth-Mo.”
