It’s 2019 and I can thank Cityfox for helping me bring in the New Year proper. The 27 hour event at Avant Gardner was unlike any event I have been to. The New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day party featured Adriatique, Jamie Jones, Lee Burridge, Tale of Us & Many More (Adriatique, Lee Burridge, and Tale of Us all announced on this year’s Coachella lineup btw). The venue had four different stages and two lounges. The production as always was on point.
The event started at 9:00p.m. with an opening set by New York native Ray Zuniga on December 31st with a countdown to midnight followed by an epic 12:01a.m. set by Jamie Jones (I love him!!). The venue was a vast maze (I honestly could not figure out how to get around for a minute), and every corner you turned, it seemed like there was another room to explore. This event was definitely the biggest event I have been to at the Avant Gardner. The night continued with sets by Art Department, Honey Dijon, Adriatique, but my favorite was the 6a.m. set by Tale of Us.
You would think that by 6a.m. the event would be emptying out and the crowd would be tired. But Tale of Us kept The Reactor stage packed (hot and sweaty also!) and everyone was non-stop moving. Part of the crowd, still decked out in New Year’s party gear and part of the crowd, in cozy looks since they knew they were going to be here all night (and morning). I have been to many late night/early morning events and I have never see such an alive crowd. All types of beautiful people from different countries and varying ages were dancing together on the dance floor during the early morning hours. Tale of Us was spinning their The party carried well into the evening of January 1st and the event ended with a special set by Tale of Us and Adriatique. If you’re like me, it’s always hectic figuring out New Year’s plans, but I’m definitely headed back to Cityfox next year, and you should to! Happy 2019!
