SZA
SZA had the music world extremely concerned when she tweeted back in May that her voice was “permanently injured.” She withdrew from the TDE Championship Tour and explained to the fans:
“I’ve been touring for 11 months. This didn’t happen overnight . I’ve been troubleshooting for a while now and usually steroids and pushing through help. They don’t this time . I’m not sick my voice just won’t fucking work. If I don’t pause now I’ll be forced to pause permanently. I’m genuinely sorry for every face, voice, and energy field I won’t be touching!”
SZA was also slated to perform on the final day at Firefly Music Festival and although there was no announcement in regards to her withdrawal, it was unclear whether or not she would be performing.
Just 3 hours before her scheduled set on Sunday June 17th, SZA tweeted out:
“Thank u to the incredible team of Doctors and vocal technicians that have taken time to see me over the last few weeks in every city. I’m blessed to say my voice is not permanently damaged and i’ve been working daily to get back. Slowly but surely.”
“Today we give it a go and hit the stage at firefly …see u at 8”
She took to the stage as promised and delivered an emotional set. She sounded amazing, and you can hear for yourself below!
