Music Platform Is Waiving All Fees And Providing Artists 100% Of Revenue On All Sales Every First Friday Of The Month
Bandcamp, an essential platform for music artists, have provided their own version of assistance and relief for artists during these quaran-times. The platform is dubbing “BandCamp Fridays” which will waive its revenue on all sales made and go towards artists pockets directly. From vinyl to digital to merch; all purchases made on the site will go directly to the artists and labels themselves.
On its first run, the platform reported over $4 million going to artists in one full Friday, spanning from 12AM – 12PM. The platform has now extended this offering to the first Friday of every month, for the next 3 months.
Whether you’re looking to support your favorite artist or looking to explore a new favorite, there are countless sonic or tangible products waiting for you. In a new world where industries have been flipped upside down; one of the hardest affected has been the music industries. With halts on everything from recording processes to tours, musicians, along with production teams, venue staff and labels have felt the impact.
