THE ADVERTISERS’ FIRST SINGLE “BLACK DOG / BLACK HAT” HITS BROOKLYN
If the delightfully frenzied state of a backroom venue at a Williamsburg dive bar at 11pm on a Tuesday is any indication, the New York City rock ‘n roll scene is alive and well, and with their exciting, yet classic sound, NYC’s own up-and-comers The Advertisers are keeping the blood flowing.
In celebration of the release of their first explosive track, “Black Dog / Black Hat,” on February 26th, The Advertisers put on a spectacular and, in generous spirit, free show at Union Pool hosted by WFMU deejay Todd-O-Phonic. Sharing the bill were the New Jersey-hailing, fuzzy “doom pop” duo Yawn Mower and the Brooklyn-based, punk-rocking Gnarcissists.
A dangerous guitar and drum medley topped by frontwoman Acacia Fusco’s sleek snarling, “Black Dog / Black Hat” is an infectious and auspicious first release. Browse moments from the band’s electrifying set below.
“Black Dog / Black Hat” is currently available for download via The Advertiser’s website on a pay-what-you-want basis starting at $1 and will be made available for streaming in the coming weeks.
