TOKYO POLICE CLUB HAD THE CROWD STEP INTO A TIME MACHINE

TOKYO POLICE CLUB AT BOWERY BALLROOM

Tokyo Police Club had a busy 2016 that included a slew of tour dates along with the releases of 2 EPs, Melon Collie and the Infinite Radness: Part One and Part Two. They also released a 10th Anniversary vinyl reissue of their debut EP that put the band on the map, A Lesson In Crime. They played a healthy mix of all their material, old and new, but around the midpoint singer/bassist David Monks announced- “We are stepping into a time machine. We are going backwards in time. The year is 2006. You were younger, healthier, better looking, and you have a fresh copy of Tokyo Police Club’s A Lesson In Crime in your hand. You load the disc drive. You press disc 6, and you reach for the play button…”

A great nod to the vinyl reissue, the band then proceeded to play the EP in order, in its entirety. The crowd including myself was much obliged.
