11 Favorite Sneakers To Release in 2019 (So Far)

BEST 2019 SNEAKERS TO DROP

It’s been over 100 days since the start of 2019. 100 days of sneaker launches, sneaker mishaps and overall too much sneaker hype. Here is a list of our 11 favorite sneakers to drop or announce they are dropping so far this year.

[1] Bodega x New Balance 997S ‘No Days Off’

2019 Sneakers

They are just so pretty. And cool. And pretty cool. This colorful Bodega x New Balance collaboration retailed for $160 when they first dropped but are now going for $485 and up on StockX. So yes, they are out of reach, however,  let these serve as your inspiration. Spring and Summer sneakers need some pop of color. Expect more brands to release similar vibrant collaborations.

[2] ASICS GEL-Kayano 5 360

2019 Sneakers

First released in a navy blue and gold colorway these kicks are a hybrid of The Gel-Kayano 5 And The Gel-Quantum 360. The all white colorway are fresh for summer and for those who tend to steer away from color like the Bodega x New Balance. The Gel-Kayano 5 keeps up with the runner silhouette trend that is dominating fashion runways and city streets. These currently retail for $190 at Asics.

[3] Nike Zoom Vomero 5

2019 Sneakers

Earlier this year we were digging the A-Cold-Wall* x Nike Zoom Vomero Collaboration, however we weren’t completely sold on the heel box. Then Nike came out with ones without the hell box, but something seemed missing. Now we know what was missing: color. These new kicks come in three colorways: “Electric Green,” “Racer Blue,” and for those who weren’t sold on the black or gray Nike Zoom Vomero can settle for “Dark Grey.” Expect these to drop later this week at nike.com.

[4] Beauty & Youth x New Balance X-90

2019 Sneakers

The New Balance X-90 x BEAUTY & YOUTH are equal parts nostalgic as they are refreshing. With a focus on the 90s the upper includes left and right asymmetrical color strap structure. The sole blends various classic New Balance silhouettes. These exclusive kicks reflect all that is iconic with New Balance and can help explain why they are having a resurgence among the streetwear community. You can find these at Beauty and Youth for $165.

[5] Aimé Leon Dore x New Balance 997

2019 Sneakers

Yes, New Balance really has stepped up their game in 2019. The Aimé Leon Dore collaboration which dropped earlier this month, adds playful color to what can be a boring silhouette. See color works! The 997 New Balance are a classic and this special colorway is sure to a much sought after sneaker for years to come. We predict these only increase in value. They currently are seeking for $455 on StockX.

[6]  Kiks x ANTA LA Runner ‘Walker’

2019 Sneakers

The first collaboration between Kiks and ANTA takes two trends that seem not to go away, chunky and runner, and in many ways improves it. These come across less chunky and more versatile. They also don’t seem to be trying to hard to be something they are not. And yes, we know that is a problem in the sneaker hype world. We really dig the different textures and the combination of mesh and synthetic leather. There are currently retailing for 429RM which is about $64 (not including shipping and vat) on Sole What. You can find more ANTA sneakers on their site.

[7] The Sacai x Nike Blazer in Wolf Grey

2019 Sneakers

We were super pumped when we first saw these kicks on the SS19 Paris Fashion Week runways. At the time we saw them in two color ways: yellow/white/red/black and blue/black/white. As soon as we saw them in a white and gray we knew we had to have these (if we can find them). These are expected to retail for $140 and should drop at the NikeLab store soon.

[8] adidas Nite Jogger

2019 Sneakers

We wore and reviewed these while we were at SXSW. And although we found they didn’t provide the level of structure we needed or wanted during a week long “walking” festival, we still find them super dope — despite the divisive pebble sole — and worthy of this list. The Nite Jogger retails for $130 at adidas.com.

[9] Hoka One One Men’s Sky Arkali

2019 Sneakers

Hoka One One — the maker of the most stable, comfortable running shoe on the planet —  released a pretty dope hiking sneaker. If you have been paying attention to the fashion runways or Coachella is on trend. So if you want to stay on trend but also get some use out of these by hiking all Spring and Summer long for the these that will set you back $200 but should last you pretty damn long.

[10] adidas originals LXCON

2019 Sneakers

We like to describe these as the sneakers that Jonah Hill made famous. And yes they are, but they also have become a clear favorite for adidas fans this year due to their chunky adiPRENE midsole and 90s inspired colorways. The ‘Jonah Hill-adidas’ retail of $120 and can be found at adidas.

[11] Nike Air Fear of God 180 in Black

2019 Sneakers

The black colorway of the Nike Air x Fear of God collaboration is expected to drop next month with a pretty dope “Moccasin.” This silhouette comes with criss-cross straps, Nike swoosh logos on the sides and a distributed lacing system. Perhaps how we have been lacing up our shoes have been wrong this whole time? Expect these to hit nike.com next month.
