Suns out, legs out, show off those Summer 2019 Sneakers
Over the past couple years we have published our favorite sneakers for summer. 2017 was about delicate, soft-hued colors. It was also when Virgil Abloh and Nike’s Mars Yard by Tom Sachs took over streetwear at the end of summer. 2018 we saw a lot of color and floral prints. Today we have a little bit of everything. Because we can have it all.
Here are our 20 favorite sneakers for summer 2019 including some you can wear during (and after) Pride.
 Off-White x Nike Zoom Terra Kiger 5
Releasing at the end of the month, Virgil Abloh’s newest collaboration with Nike might be his coolest. Abloh excels at capitalizing on trends of the moment: hiking boots. Keep a look out for these at nike.com.
Oyster Holdings x Adidas Samba OG
In most places around the world Soccer is where it’s at — especially during the summer. We don’t mean only professional, we also mean for kids during those summer months. We are digging the Oyster Holdings Samba OG Shoes. Samba were one of our first part if sneakers and the blue and yellow colorways are dope. They are $130 at adidas.com.
 Sacai x Nike LD Waffle
Sacai continues to challenge conventional silhouettes. Adding a waffle, mesh-like upper with retro colors makes these prime for summer for the streetwear crowd. With that said, they will cost you. They are currently going for $388 at stockx.
Air Max 270 With React Cushioning
Speaking of retro colors, Nike hinted that they will be releasing the Nike Air Max 270 with React Cushioning by outfitting perhaps the stars of Summer 2019: The U.S. Women’s Soccer team. These kicks are for winners. Keep a look out at nike.com for the release.
 Asics SKYSENSOR JAPAN
Dropping sometime this week, here is a summer sneaker super-focused on speed and performance. These are the perfect summer sneaker for those of you training for a marathon or want to look like you are. Expect these to appear on asics.com on June 7th.
Nike Air Tech Challenge II “Hot Lava
For those old enough to remember, these were made famous by tennis phenom Andre Agassi and they are back! Since Andre wore them during warm weather activities, we have to add them to this list. They retail for $130 at Nike.com and about $200 on the secondhand market.
Offered in Seashell, Lichen Rock (pictured) and White, the GmbH x ASICS GEL-Kayano 5 are cushioned for maximum comfort and should keep you comfortable all summer long. We are really digging the Lichen Rock color. They can be yours for $160 at KITH.
ADIDAS x RAF SIMONS TORSION Stan Smith
Like most of their collaborations these Stan Smiths by Raf Simons are bit out of the price zone, however, they are pretty damn dope. These are inspired by the Trompe-L’oeil painting technique. Yes everything is painted on and superimposed by 3D modeling. These retail for $300 at KITH.
Karhu “Land of the Midnight Sun” Pack
Karhu pays homage to Finland’s endless summer days. FYI the sun does not set from May until August. These are the perfect kicks to wear all day and all night that looks like day. You can find these for $135 at Karhu.
New Balance 998 Made In USA in Orange
Nothing says Summer quite like orange slices (even though, yes citrus tends to be a winter fruit, but ignore that). We are big fan of what New Balance has been doing the past couple years. All you have to do is check out our other sneaker lists to see. These are pretty fly. These can be yours for $200 at New Balance.
adidas FYW S-97 Purple and Orange
For those still yearning for the chunky dad shoe, these might be up your alley for this summer. We are really into the colorway here and expect to see lots more purple and orange in footwear this coming year. These are going for $116 at Stuarts.
VANS Classic Slip-on 98 DX Anaheim Factory
Summer is about the beach. The towels, the cabanas, the umbrellas (both in your drink and to cover you from the sun. Here is a pair that looks just like a day at the beach and we are pumped to put these on a dig a hole to China. For $80 you can look at you just spent the day at the beach. Find these at KITH.
Nike Air Fear of God 180 in White
 Gucci TBD
These recently debuted during a Gucci Cruise Fashion Show. We have no idea if they will drop this summer or will ever drop but they are pretty awesome and perhaps shows some trends that will be around throughout the summer and even into next summer. AKA Retro 90s textures and colors are not going anywhere. If you are one who worries about buying a pair of expensive trendy sneakers because they may be out of style by the time you wear them, use this as your guide for what’s to come.
