A little bit country, a lil bit rock & roll and whole lot of style. That’s what LA based brand, Backbite, has to offer. With their late 1960s hippie influence, 1970s western inspired styles and 1980’s biker looks they bring vintage, handmade and one-of-a-kind items and very unique looks to 21st century shoppers.
Their tops are an abundance – graphic tees, crop tops, bodysuits, crochet blouses and a lot more. Many off their tees have classic 70’s rock bands emblazoned on the front like Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath. They also have a lot of biker inspired printed tops with the Harley Davidson logo and aesthetics upping the awesome factor even more. I am coveting the vintage rock tee body suits as well as their graphic print sweaters. In particular I’m really loving the Backbite Acid Mouth sweater. Super cool!
Their dresses, skirts and rompers vary a bit more in style with fringe and velvet minis, embroidered and patchwork skirts and vintage denim rompers. They did completely thrown me off track with the gorgeous beaded and silk Deco 1920’s dress.
Bottoms go from wide-leg bell bottom jeans to diminutive hot shorts with graphics, prints and shiny textures. The high-waist Patched Denim 70’s Bells are amazing and would go perfectly with any of their vintage tee bodysuits or crop tops.
You can also score gorgeous outerwear like the 1970’s Scotch and Cinnamon shearling jacket to an animal-print 1960’s trapeze coat and even go back to another decade, the 50’s, for the Eagle and Snake Mexican leather jacket. You can travel through time with fashion!
In shoes, accessories and home there is so much to choose from. Western inspired clogs and boots, big shades and leather hats to cowhide pillows. Two pieces I definitely want to add to my accessories rotation is the Leather Baby Vice Pres. Vintage Cap (that comes with 18 vintage pins) and the Western Sun Studded Buckle Clogs.
Backbite has so much more to offer and perusing their website is a lot of fun. It gives glimpses of fashion from the last 50 or so years and true vintage and flea market shoppers will be able to score individual and unique swag.
