I really like Miike Snow so when I found out about Christian Karlsson’s Electronic Music project Galantis, I had to check it out. Karlsson teamed up with DJ/producer Linus Eklöw and formed Galantis and their first album “Pharmacy” is a great one. It’s not too far of a stretch to think of the Miike Snow sound in form of Electronic Music, but it’s a breath of fresh air to hear an EDM album made by actual musicians. In that regard the songs are definitely put together as ‘songs’ rather than tracks and I can see people that aren’t necessarily into dance music get into this.

I don’t see this as a festival or club album but just a great dance/pop record that leans into the House and Progressive House style. The melodies are great and the songs show a lot of emotional range, and some even give you a sad vibe (but in a good way). My personal favorite is Call If You Need Me although this is an album I can listen to straight through.
