BIG WILD: IT’S MORE THAN JUST THE HAIR
There’s a ‘that’s what she said’ joke in there somewhere but seriously, it’s the style, the colors, the stage presence, and most importantly, the sound that justifies the moniker.
FRIDAY 04/29/16 – BROOKLYN, NEW YORK
Armed with an energy that his look doesn’t give you a clue about, Wild kept pace with the most uptempo of his selections whether it was through drumming center stage or taking to the wooden box off to his right like a madman. Dressed in a button-down floral Hawaiian shirt and blue slacks, I couldn’t help but feel a sort of Ace Ventura vibe. Whether intentional or a coincidence, it struck the right chord and came off as tongue-in-cheek genius.
The crowd had gotten its fill throughout the night from the likes of Chet Porter but Wild showed both visually and sonically that there’s always room for dessert. Catch Big Wild on the west coast for the remainder of his Spring 2016 tour from May 11th through the 22nd.
