14 Coolest Winter 2020 Sneakers

Cool, Colorful, Prime for Winter, and Not a Nike or adidas on The List

It’s about 35 degrees fahrenheit in New York City right now so we thought now would be a good time to post our list of our favorite “winter sneakers” we got our eyes on. Yes, not every pair you can go trudging through the snow in, or wear in Fargo in February, but all should keep you feeling less dreary this winter. Here are our picks for Winter 2020:

[1+2] ASICS Gel Fujitrabuco 7 Gore-Tex

14 Coolest Winter Sneakers

The Gel-Fujitrabuco has quickly become a favorite and popular silhouette coming out of the Japanese technology brand’s off-road-focused runners. The are not a Kiko Kostadivnov design, however, it is clear his influence on the brand is undeniable.

We also dig the Chemist Creations take on the GEL-FujiTrabuco 7 SPS:

[3] New Balance All Terrain Hierro v5

14 Coolest Winter Sneakers

The Fresh Froam Hierro v5 “is designed to go the distance” but it is also designed to make you look on trend while also remaining comfortable. at $134.99 we believe these are a pair of sneakers you can wear all year long. You can find them over at New Balance.

[4] Asics x Chemist Creations GEL-Kayano 5 OG

14 Coolest Winter Sneakers

Another Ascis x Chemist Creations collaboration we are digging, their take on the GEL-Kayano 5 OG. The collaboration is contemporary but also pays homage to Asics core: a comfortable running/ training shoe. We are all for fashionable comfort and here they nail it. You can find these now on stockx starting at $213 (at the time of this publication).

[5] Reebok Zig Kinetica Concept Type 1

14 Coolest Winter Sneakers

Here is Reebok’s answer to Nike’s react and adidas’ Boost. Reebok’s tech is composed of three parts – “Floatride Fuel,” “Energy Shell,” and “Energy Web.” Reebok’s newest silhouette is now available for $180 at Reebok.

[6] Kiko Kostadinov’s ASICS GEL Korika

14 Coolest Winter Sneakers

It has take us some time to get behind Kiko Kostadinov’s pervious Asics collaborations. That is mostly due to Kostadinov’s somewhat ambiguous and often confusing designs. However, as soon as the ASICS GEL Korika were announced in new color ways, we were hooked. Expect these to drop November 16th at Asics.

[7] END x New Balance 860v2

14 Coolest Winter Sneakers

There is nothing wrong with a lot of color, even in the winter. As we are seeing more and more tech be applied to runners, we are also seeing more and more intricacy in the design, so why not also highlight the intricate tech design by using mix colors? We feel the UK brand END nails the New Balance silhouette. You can find these over at END.

[8] Reebok DMX Trail Shadow

Part retro, part trail-shoe, part new technology, Reebok’s updated take on the DMX Trail Shoe  is pretty dope. These are expected to drop at the end of this month for $200 at Reebok.

[9] Vans The Static CC MTE

Here is Vans’ latest in their All-weather-focused footwear collection that id designed for both comfort and performance all winter long. Our only issue with these is we cannot decide which colorway to get. You can find these for $95 at Vans.

[10] Clearweather Brand Contera

Clearwweather brand’s “Less Corporate, More Independent” motto is something we really want to get behind. It helps that the sneakers the Brubaker brother’s are creating are worth it. We are really digging this Contera silhouette, but we also like the Otosan and Aries as well. You can check them all out at clearweatherbrand.com

[11] GEL-KAYANO 5 OG Piedmont Grey/Black

Yes, here is yet another Asics model that made this list. For decades Asics was producing some of the, if not the most, comfortable sneakers, now they upped their style game. These currently are in our basket waiting for us to pull the trigger and purchase them. What do you think? Find them at Asics for $120.

[12] New Balance x Aries Arise

Here is a simple reminder that summer wasn’t that long ago, and will be coming back before you know it. It also is a reminder that just because it’s winter doesn’t meant you should just stick to black. It’s okay for your kicks to remind you of those long days on the tennis court. You can find these for $250 at Kith.

[13] Tyler, The Creator x Converse The GLF Gianno Ox

A complete departure from his One Star creation, Tyler, The Creator went oversized, dad shoe meat hiking sneaker to let us all know the chunky shoe tread just won’t die…yet. Expect these to drop next week at Converse.

[14] 11 x Boris Bidjan Saberi x Salomon

Is it a boot or a sneaker? Not sure but these should get you through the rest of the winters of your life. They should be indestructible as they are priced at $545. You can find them at Ssense.com,
