Brooklyn summers would be nowhere without the beloved Output Rooftop, which hosts stunning Manhattan skyline views, ample comfortable lounging, and most importantly, sheer gold soundtracks that match scintillating summer vibes. Brenn & César, brothers and recent implants from the Paris electronic music scene, certainly debuted their new event series, L A S T L I G H T, with a bang on a summer eve at this beloved venue with all around feel good vibes from start to finish.
Despite unforeseen weather circumstances of intermittent rain showers, L A S T L I G H T so smoothly and professionally orchestrated the night allowing the burgeoning (not to mention extremely attractive and diversely chic) crowds to barely notice the distractions of mother nature.
After the opening DJ acts HD b2b Pete Fonda, the stunning live show of Brooklyn-based dreamy electro-pop act COLOR WARwas swiftly moved to the Panther Room. The gorgeous sounds of vocalist Lindsay Mound echoed perfectly against the shining disco ball in the Panther’s cove. The live performance coincided flawlessly with the talented shimmery electro outfits and their brand new track release of “Bitte”, which means both “Please” and “You’re Welcome” in German.
Following Color War’s performance, the fun-filled night moved right back outside to the rooftop where special guest Onegreenfield journeyed the beautiful crowds from afternoon to night with his deeply soulful set of body moving drops and tracks. The seamless flow of musical events buzzing with friendly vibes, laughs, and dancing, culminated in the headlining and closing set of the brothers themselves, Brenn & César. With cooling raindrops falling on the Manhattan backdrop, their much anticipated set opened with a sizzling hot remix (dropping for the public soon) of Aaliyah’s ”Rock the Boat,” immediately stirring the crowd’s attention to keep all ears and eyes on this extremely talented duo.
The following one and a half hours was a unique blend of techno and house European sounds of Berlin and UK that kept the gorgeous and gregarious audience happy on their toes, sharing laughter, and dancing into the Brooklyn summer night. This delicious Thursday L A S T L I G H T night launched the new event series in nothing but refinement, piquing our curiosity of exciting things to come from the brothers Brenn & César. They definitely have more than a just a few tricks up their sleeves as they plan their second L A S T L I G H T event and future collaborations.
Do yourself a favor and save that flight to Europe fellow Brookylnites, as Brenn & César are bringing us the sweet vibes from the Euro scene through their new series: L A S T L I G H T.
