Transmission Complete: Desert Daze Is Ready For Take Off

A Weekend in the Southern Californian Desert With the Best in Experimental Genres Across the Globe

Desert Daze Music Festival returns for its 8th year running to Moreno Beach at Lake Perris, California starting  Friday, October 11 to Sunday, October 13, 2019. The all-ages festival features an array of buzz-worthy up and coming acts, as well as established veterans who on each night will perform seminal albums from their storied careers. If the music isn’t already enticing enough, the event elevates itself to serve each of the remaining senses with activations, workshops and alternative programming throughout the weekend.

At last years event, we captioned the festival “a unique event unlike any other, Desert Daze is not a music festival you attend; it’s one where your human spirit has the opportunity to transcend,” and it absolutely did not disappoint. Still coming down to earth from the out of this world experience the festival took us through last year, this years lineup proves the organizers always stay true to their commitment of bringing together the best of eclectic, experimental genres  from all over the world for a weekend in the desert in Southern California. This year, Friday’s lineup includes: The Flaming Lips, Stereolab and Animal Collective. Saturday is bringing along: Ween, Devo, Flying Lotus 3D and The Locust. Closing out the weekend, Sundays list includes: Wu-Tang Clan, Khruangbin, The Claypool Lennon Delirium and The Black Angels. With heavy hitting headliners across the weekend, there are also notable line up mentions worthy of their own travels lightyears away like Faye Webster, Altin Gün, Psychedelic Porn Crumpets, Nick Hakim, Jerry Paper, Kills Birds and Jakob Ogawa to name a few.

In addition to the various music stages and acts, Desert Daze will also include art and video programming in an immersive dome augmented by a lineup of ambient sound artists curated by Epicenter Projects and Touch Music in The Sanctuary stage. Some of the most anticipated events will be featured here like a discussion between Les Claypool and Sean Lennon, and a screening of the new documentary We Intend To Cause Havoc (2019) with a follow up Q&A segment with enigmatic Zamrock legends W.I.T.C.H.

And for those needing break from the crowds, those who are seeking to camp on the grounds will have access to the Mystic Bazaar. Continuing its tradition, it will feature an immersive program of sound baths, yoga, shamanic ceremony, classes led by our Mystics, guided plant walks, live music, and other alternative programming. Lucky campers will also get to catch  Late Night Experimentations from Jacco Gardner, Klaus Johann Grobe, Sessa, Beef (Stella Mozgawa of Warpaint + Boom Bip), and closing ceremonies with JJUUJJUU & Friends, plus much more.

Whether you’re seeking to watch your favorite performers from the back of an inflatable pegasus afloat Lake Perris, want to swim or lounge on the beach among a forest of surreal sculptures and installation structures or spin in place and count the mountains, the mountains are counting on you. This is set to be an unforgettable weekend you sim0ply can not miss.
View the full lineup, as well as daily lineups below and act quick to buy your single day or weekend passes here. (Trust us, you’ll want to buy the full weekend. Floating Pegasus float optional, but highly recommended).

Grab some friends, grab your camping spaces and hold on tight for a festival experience light years ahead of the rest. See y’all in outer space!
