DON’T SACRFICIE STYLE AND COMFORT THIS WINTER.
Here at Highlark, we believe you should be able to put your best foot forward during the inclement months. For those who like Timberlands but find them to be a bit uncomfortable, we provide you with some stylish options. Here are 13 autumn and early winter sneakers we have our eyes on (so far).
[1] BEAMS x Mizuno’s KAZOKU Sky Medal
We are huge fans when two Japanese brands collaborate and celebrate their brands’ heritage. These retro sneakers have all the right 90s meets 2018 vibes while staying true to both BEAMS and Mizuno’s aesthetic. As a nod to Japan, there is an embroidered bright orange setting sun, much like Japan’s flag, below the Mizuno logo at the tongue. You can find these at BEAMS starting this weekend for approximately $140.
[2] Reebok DMX Run 10 x Sneakersnstuff
Releasing next week, these Reebok DMX Run 10s are inspired by the look of the original Sneakersnstuff store that opened in Stockholm in 1999. According to Sneakernstuff, they are celebrating “the heritage and symbiosis between the store and the launch years of the shoe with this partnership sneaker.” The DMX Run 10, originally released in 1997, was the result of eight years of DMX technology. This Cardinal/Carbon/White colorway of this iconic, dad-inspired, shoe is perfect for late fall, early winter before the snow starts falling. Find these over at Sneakersnstuff for $159.
[3] Asics GEL-Lyte V Sanze MT – Peacoat
An awesome new silhouette on one of our favorite and most comfortable sneakers, these Asics GEL-Lyte V Sanze MT should be your goto sneakers for the inclement weather. These sneakers feature GORE-TEX throughout. These retail for $130 and are available at Sneakers Politics.
[4] Nike Air Max 95 Sneakerboot
You should have to sacrifice your style and comfort in the winter months. Nike’s latest Air Max 95 sneaker boat will keep your ankles warm through the winter months while not sacrificing your comfort. You can find these now for $200 at Finish Line.
[5] Engineered Garments x HOKA ONE ONE Tor Ulta Low
Engineered Garments and famed running footwear brand HOKA ONE ONE have collaborated again on the Tor Ultra Low, which originated as a high-top hiking boot. This silhouette comes in three colorways: gray, black and black/red, and are perfect low top sneaker to wear if you prefer letting your ankles breath in those winter months. You can find these at Engineered Garments or Hoka One One later this month.
[6] Saint Alfred & adidas Consortium Temper Run
What says autumn and winter like earth tones? In our opinion adidas as hit a bit of a lull over the recent months, perhaps they have gotten complacent or are working on something big soon. However, this new elevated construction is super welcomed and feels fresh, unique but also on the nostalgic trend while not screaming Yeezy. Yes, it does scream dad shoe, but we are thinking more young dad than grandpa. Expect these to drop later this month.
[7] Li-Ning Runner – Furious Rider ACE
Chinese sneaker brand Li-Ning unveiled it’s the latest runner — the Furious Rider ACE last month. The brand’s classic 1990s running shoes inspired this new silhouette. According to the band “the new Furious Rider ACE combines function with style, and debuts a new era of Li-Ning professional running shoe design using high-end materials and construction.” Find these for $220 at Li-Ning.
[8] Vans Vault Multi Green
These full grain leather Sk8-Hi Van Vaults provide a chic and expensive look to the classic silhouette. If all you have in your sneaker rotation are Van’s Sk8-His we encourage you to up the ante and purchase these. These retail for $110 and should last you many winters.
[9] BAPE x UGG
We never thought we would ever put UGG on one of these lists but here we are. These just make sure want to put these on and not take them off until the weather hits 80 again. Fine, judge us, but we will be both comfy and cozy, while you, well, won’t.
[10] Nike M2K Tekno
We first covered the M2K Tekno Silhouette last year as one of our favorite chunky, dad shoes. They are still one of our favorites and affordable at $100. We dig the white sneaker look in the winter and these, we feel are the perfect, fun, on trend kick just not for dads. You can find them here at Eastbay.
[11] adidas Yeezy Boost 700 v2
Speaking of white, we hate to give Kanye any more attention, especially after a week where he said he liked Donald Trump because he was a man and wearing a “Make America Great Again” hat made him feel like a superhero and not a racist; however this sequel to the “Wave Runner” is pretty dope. Yes, this is more a testament to the good folk sat adidas and not Kanye. A release date is still unknown for keep checking adidas for updates as we expect these to drop soon for the steep price of $300.
[12] Nike x Virgil Abloh’s OFF-WHITE Blazer Mid Spooky Pack
Are you going to be able to find these and buy them? Probably not. But that shouldn’t stop us from including these on this list. Released last month, these Off-White x Nike Blazer Mid are the perfect kick to wear either dressed up or dressed down this winter (if you can find them). Yes, that means you can wear them with a suit and you should. We suggest trying to find these on eBay.
We also love, love, love the Serena Williams Collaboration:
[13] Nike x Tom Sachs Mars Yard Overshoe
After months (and even years) of speculation, artist Tom Sachs has officially revealed his latest Nike Collaboration: the Mars Yard Overshoe. If you are getting Moon Boot meets Mars Yard meets white contamination suit- then they did their job. The design is made from a combination of Dyneema, nylon, and polyester and probably can survive on planet Mars (FYI Elon Musk). This overshoe is an overshoe. Beneath the Dynema and inner membrane-cosmos membrane, you will find the original Mars Yard with an extended tongue. We do not know if that means that this shoe is removable, but we do foresee these being a hot, most sought-after shoe this winter. These released exclusively this week in London but keep checking Nike for a larger release.
