Today’s rock pick is “Trying” by the band Bully, who recorded their debut album at legendary producer Steve Albini’s Chicago studio, Electric Audio. This Nashville based four-piece band is lead by Alicia Bognanno, a very talented 25 year old frontwoman who has made a credible name for herself in the music industry as both an engineer and musician. Bognanno’s imperfect raspy voice, mixed with pop infused melodies has me listening to this track on repeat. I find this band to be reminiscent of Nirvana and that Seattle Grunge scene of the 90’s.
