So-Cal Rockers Drop Sophomore Record with LA Release Party; Announce Upcoming Europe and US Tour
Hailing from Southern California, Brandon Blaine (Vocals), Michael Perez (Bass), Luke Perine (Drums and Percussion) and Jay Rogers (Guitar), return with the release of Plague Vendor‘s highly anticipated sophomore LP By Night on Epitaph Records. Their last LP BLOODSWEAT, was released in 2016 shortly after their highly-regarded debut EP Free to Eat.
Quickly becoming a staple in their hometown scene via their physically electric live shows and stylings of ruin and regeneration of post-punk sound that led to an ever growing fanbase; the band is showing no signs of slowing down on their musical path as they are now ready to embark on a full Europe and US tour.
To announce the news, and bring a preview of their new album to come, Plague Vendor brought By Night to life at House of Machines in Downtown Los Angeles to a rowdy and wildly entranced crowd of devoted fans Thursday night.
Up until then, they had teased their anticipated album with four frenetically captivating singles. The lead single, which also opens the record, “New Comedown” comes in powerfully strong setting the spirit of the following tracks and album with a punching drum beat, ferocious bass line and heavy guitar riffs topped off by Brandon’s animated vocals. The brooding “All Of The Above” sees an internal monologue disintegrating over a sci-fi punk drumbeat, “Let Me Get High/Low” presents a psychedelia-tinged track that’s an infinity mirror of echo, effects, illusion and delusion and lastly “Prism”comes through with a stellar interpretation of heavy garage rock chords.
With the help of Producer John Congleton (St. Vincent, Sharon Van Etten, Chelsea Wolfe), the album is cohesively strung together via the intensified electricity of its melodies that flash and blaze with experimental differentiations in synth and sound that provide enough variety to engage audiences across genre lines.
Along with their new album; summer and fall tours have also been announced that span across the UK and Europe, and culminate in the US. Rounding off their individual shows; this run will also include stops at top listed festivals like Reading and Leeds Festival in the UK and the Vans Warped Tour Anniversary in Mountainview, CA.
